What is a valve? What does the valve do?

A valve is a control component that utilizes a moving part to open, close, or partially block one or more openings or passages so that the flow of liquid, air, or other air flow or bulk bulk material can flow out, be blocked, or be regulated A device; also refers to the valve core, the moving part of this device.

There are many types of valves and a wide range of uses, ranging from faucets in daily life, exhaust valves of pressure cookers, to control valves, fluid valves, gas valves, etc. used in various industrial equipment.

The types of valves are as follows:

Check valve Solenoid valve Safety valve Relief valve Relief valve Plunger valve Instrument valve Regulating valve Sludge valve Diaphragm valve Diverter valve Throttle valve Drain valve Exhaust valve Gate valve Ball valve Butterfly valve Trap valve Control valve Plug valve Eye valve Blind valve At present, key domestic valve manufacturers have been able to design and manufacture various valves according to ISO international standards, DIN German standards, AWWA American standards and other international standards, and some manufacturers' products have reached the international advanced level.

What is a valve What does the valve do

The valve can be operated manually or by hand wheel, handle or pedal, and can also be controlled to change the pressure, temperature and flow rate of the fluid medium. Valves can operate continuously or repeatedly for these changes, such as safety valves installed in hot water systems or steam boilers.

In more complex control systems automatic control valves are employed based on the needs of external input (i.e. adjusting the flow through the pipe to a changing set point). The automatic control valve does not need manual operation, and according to its input and setting, the valve can accurately control the various requirements of the fluid medium.

Common valves can be divided into:

Cut-off valve: mainly used to cut off and connect fluid medium, including gate valve, globe valve, diaphragm valve, plug valve, ball valve, butterfly valve, etc.

Regulating valve: mainly used to adjust the flow, pressure, temperature, etc. of fluid medium, including regulating valve, throttle valve, pressure reducing valve, thermostatic valve, etc.

Check valve: mainly used to prevent the back flow of the fluid medium.

Diverter valve: mainly used for distributing, separating and mixing fluid media, including slide valve, multi-port valve, steam trap, etc.

Safety valve: mainly used for safety protection to prevent damage to boilers, pressure vessels or pipelines.

Valves are mainly used in industrial, military, commercial, residential, transportation and industries such as oil and gas, power generation, mining, water network, sewage treatment and chemical manufacturing. And it is widely used in industrial and agricultural production and daily life.
